Today was a very special day for our
club. We had the pleasure of having our newest member, Lyn Huckle
installed. As most of you know, she is the widow of the late Dr.
George Huckle. Mrs. Huckle has been a part of our club for many
years, through Dr. Huckle; she is now carrying on that tradition, by
being an active member. She also donated $50.00 to our club today.
Joyce Lunsford, thank you for sponsoring Lyn into our club.

Jim Pignato served as "emcee" at today's meeting; he also gave
the invocation. It was a special day; the new officers were
installed. Ernie Simon served to install the officers. Gerry
Meeks led the singing.
Bruce Williams, a special salute to you for your music each week.

Harvey Brown greeted our guests for the day. We had Jeffrey Dennis,
New Providence, Bahamas; Lyn Huckle's daughter, Kay, and Annette Gumm,
Emmett's wife. We welcome each of you. We also had three make
ups; thank each of you. Stormi Norem paid for a banner that we did
not give away.

Fred Bonardi gave the stock market report. At the time, the Dow was
up 14 points, and the NASDAQ was up 5 points. This means it was up
500 points since Friday. He also served as Sergeant at Arms,
collecting an even $100.00.

Jim Blocker and Rich Connell are working on our proposed website.
They passed out a sheet with the proposed contents. It is quite
impressive; think everyone will be impressed as well. Guys, keep us
informed.

President Gumm, (for twelve more days) made a short speech, touching on
some of our accomplishments this year. Among them, he mentioned the
fact that we lost eleven members this year, but gained twelve new
ones. This means we are holding our own. That is quite
remarkable. He touched on the many activities our club was involved
in, and seemed quite pleased with the results. Emmett, we thank you
for your year as president, but also are very pleased that you will
become Assistant District Governor for the clubs of Delray Beach, Sunrise
and Boynton-Lantana Clubs. This is a step up the ladder to serving
Rotary.
