ROTARY RAMBLINGS
ROTARY CLUB OF DELRAY BEACH
June 27, 2006
At this time, I want to thank Sue Miller for writing the "Ramblings" last
week, in my absence. Good job, Sue!
On Sunday, a group of members of our Rotary Club attended the annual
District 6930 Installation meeting in Palm Beach Gardens. It was attended
by members throughout the district. A fun time was had by all. Our
outgoing President Leo Phillips, became Assistant District Governor.
Today, June 27, President Leo Phillips handed over the gavel to
President-elect David Armstrong. We now salute President David Armstrong.
We thank Past President Leo Phillips for a year of great achievements for
Delray Beach Rotary Club.
The Board of Directors has asked me to post for membership, Kay Johnson,
Head of St. Joseph Episcopal School.
President Phillips gave Perfect Attendance Pins to a number of members (this
is why we are in the top 90% in the district.) The top honorees were Ernie
Simon, with 39 years perfect attendance; Bill Arnst was second, with 30
years perfect attendance. At this time, I must tell you, Ernie was to be
our emcee today, but he had a mishap that left him with a broken collar
bone. Ernie, we wish you a speedy recovery; you were missed.
President Leo Phillips paid special recognition to the following members,
for their efforts in various capacities, in making this a good year, under
his leadership: Sally Dye, Cliff Ripley, Nancy Owens, Dave O'Connell, Mark
Denkler, Bill Arnst, Ernie Simon, Lyn Huckle, Pat Archer, Bill Adams,
Shirley Clark, Ann Bright, Kurt Godfrey, Dave Armstrong, Ellie Lowery, and
his beautiful wife, Pat Phillips.
