Featured speaker – one of our newest members, Mike Campbell of Habitat
for Humanity. Mike gave a very
informative and moving presentation about Habitat for Humanity showing
us a
video about the impact Habitat has on lives worldwide. The cost to
build a 3
bedroom house (exclusive of land) is approximately $65,000. The purchaser pays approximately
$80,000. Must have a steady job,
be a first time home buyer, have good credit, pass a criminal
background check
and perform 500 hours for Habitat for Humanity starting immediately at
the time
of the application. In addition,
once their house has been started they must participate every weekend
helping
with the construction. It is a
great opportunity to learn additional skills and to take pride in
ownership. Thank you, Mike.
