The International Society for Crippled Children, known today as Easter Seals, was founded by Rotarian Edgar F. "Daddy" Allen, who first presented the idea in 1919 to his Rotary club in Elyria, Ohio, USA. The society received The Rotary Foundation's first grant, made in 1929.
