BobTeninga introduced our Ambassadorial Scholar, Christina Dombrowsky, who hasreturned from Argentinawhere she was able to take the trip of a lifetime. It was the longest time shehad ever spent away from home - 10 months.
Christinabrought a wonderful slide show which featured many of the places shevisited. Along the way she encounteredsome unexpected experiences. Most ofall, she was surprised to realize that even though she was in Argentina, she met many people from other placesoutside Argentina. This gave her an opportunity to learn abouteven more cultures and customs.
Duringher trip abroad, she participated in weekly tango lessons, Toastmasters, community service, Rotaract, touring the country and attending Rotary meetingsin various places. She got to know andenjoy the wine of Argentina. She was kind enough to bring a couple ofbottles for us to sample.
Christinatruly enjoyed the intercultural exchanges in a truly intercultural city, Buenos Aires. She got to know many people and made manyfriends with diverse backgrounds. Duringher trip she realized that she needed to take on the mindset of a traveler, mainlydetermining who she would meet, what she would do, and where she would go. It was up to her to determine the direction ofthe trip and in a broader sense the direction she would go in life. Because of her trip to Argentina, shecame to realize that she would be changed forever. From now on she would know that the world isher oyster, her life is directed by her own decisions, and she can choose to dowhatever she wants to do as long as she loves what she is doing.
SidBreman conducted our Green Hat drawing. The pot is up to $1,860.00. Thewinning ticket was bought by Sue Miller (who had to leave early) so yours trulytook over and of course, pulled the 7 of hearts…Sorry, Sue!!! And, we live to play again next week! See you on Tuesday.
