We sang two songs, ROTARY, and SMILE

Bob recognized Candace's hard work with the dictionary for 3rd Graders

Tony Allerton did the Sergeant of Arms Reported that we collected
$136.00. 

Linda Bortman attended today's meeting and she thanked us for our
continued support of Atlantic High School Scholarships.

Betsy Owen gave us a full report regarding her trip to Africa. Rotary
has made a difference with Desk donations. She also happily reported
that the Delray Beach Rotary Flag went to the top of K-2!

Allen introduced the teacher and student of the month. Congratulations
to Samone Davis, who will be attending Howard University and will be
studying Broadcast Journalism. Congratulations also to Mrs. Chatman our
teacher of the month.

Jesse Sowers introduced our speaker: Elizabeth Butler who talked about
the Delray Beach CRA. The goals of the CRA are eliminate blighted areas,
maintain a dynamic downtown, and continue to bring public housing
online.  The CRA has a 16+ million dollar annual budget and is one of
the States most successful CRA's. Some recent projects include:

1.       US-1 Corridor enhancement project

2.       West Atlantic Beautification, Phase III

3.       Carver Square

4.       MLK drive improvements

5.       Working with the Land Trust
